Children’s Ministry

CHECK IT OUT! We have a ton of fun and exciting things happening in our Children’s Ministry and invite you to come and join in the fun!
Our Director of Children’s Ministry, Rachel Pyles, and her awesome team are always coming up with fun new ways to introduce our kids to scripture and help our children develop an understanding of God’s incredible power, love, and grace.

Safety First in Children’s Ministry

At First Baptist Church, the safety of our children is not taken lightly. To ensure your children are in a safe an nurturing environment, each of the staff members and volunteers in our Children’s Ministry go through a background check and screening process. Amidst the volunteers (who have ample experience working with children), we have quite a few staff members who have been trained to not only work with children, but are certified in First Aid and CPR. If you have any questions or concerns, you child needs special care, attention, or accommodations, please ask to speak to one of these staff members so we can best meet the needs of your child(ren) and family.

The Lighthouse: Sunday mornings from 9:45a – 12:30p

On Sunday mornings from 9:45a – 12:30p, we invite children to join us for The Lighthouse. While adults are in their Sunday School classes and worshiping at the Unleashed service, our kids are having their own exciting worship service, filled with songs, videos, large group activities, skits, and a whole lot of fun. Children also have a time to break out into their small groups with our adult leaders and dig further into God’s Word, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to personally connect to the week’s lesson. The curriculum we use is called The Gospel Project and takes children on a Biblical Journey, from Genesis all the way to Revelation. Take a peek at this video to check it out!

Wednesday Night Schedule

Joybells: Wednesday evenings* from 6:30p – 7:00p
Through the Children’s Music Ministry of First Baptist we glorify God and strengthen our children’s ability to encounter Jesus Christ. We believe in education for our families and strive to teach music through our Joybells Tonechime Choir, which meets Wednesday Nights from 6:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m and is open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, and musically inclined 2nd graders.

Mission Friends – Wednesday Nights at 7p

MF and CIA

Join us upstairs in the Children’s Department on Wednesday nights from 7-8pm as we talk about different countries and what missionaries are doing globally and locally to share God’s love. Our Missions Friends is for children 2-years-old through Kindergarten and a Children in Action class for our 1st through 5th graders.

For the last two years, our children have had the opportunity to participate in CentriKid. During this week of high-energy, Christ-centered fun, our students had the opportunity to learn more about God’s incredible love for us, how we can trust in Him, and how to share this message with others. Worshiping in a room full of kids, watching them praise our Father… it’s an experience unlike any other. Our students each grew in their relationship with Jesus, developed a better understanding of important Biblical truths, and formed relationships with other kids their own age, adult leaders, camp staff, and even some of the Conference Center staff who were beyond delightful. We will be returning to CentriKid again in 2017!
